Q: Are blogs helpful in English?

Yes blogs are helpful in English class.  They waste less paper and therefore environmentally friendly.  They are easier for the teacher and the student.  Better for spelling and they make it easier to read
Blogs are more environmentlly friendly because they use less paper therefore less pollution. Kids these days  get an assignment on paper write it out on paper and then throw it out.  All they are doing is killing trees and the environment. Then with blogs the kids can add their teacher on their blogs the teacher can post the assignment on the blogs and kids can type away. Its way more efficient.
Blogs are also make it easier on everyone.  Since kids these days love technology  they can relax in their chair knowing that they know what their supposed to do.  So in a way it helps out everyone.
Teens these days have very messy writing and puts stress on the teacher trying to read it.  So with blogs it makes the writing neat and fixes the mistakes.  Without blogs there is messy writing and spelling mistakes.  stress on everyone. With them not as much stress.
So in my opinion blogs help everyone.  Without them we're a train wreak.  I love blogs because the help.

  1. Hi Laura,

I'm so pleased that you have such a strong grasp of the structure of an opinion essay. I think that's 3 quarters of the battle. I also hope you don't mind helping some of your classmates. I think you understand this and I'll be very grateful for any help you can give to Kylie or the others.

What I will do, so that you get feedback on your work today is cut and paste it two times below. The first time it appears I will put comments in brackets. The second time it appears I will make the changes that I think will make it even stronger.

    Your work with comments:

Yes blogs are helpful in English class (Very clear thesis, but maybe a little choppy). They waste less paper and therefore creates less pollution (than what?). They are easier for the teacher and the student (are you writing about 'convenience?'. Better for spelling and they make it easier to read (this last sentence is incomplete)
Blogs are more environment smart (usually we say 'environmentally friendly') because they use less paper therefore less pollution. Kids these days get an assignment on paper write it out on paper and then throw it out. All they are doing is killing trees and the environment. Then with blogs the kids can add their teacher on their blogs the teacher can post the assignment on the blogs and kids can type away. Its (you mean it's -it is-)way more efficient.
Blogs are also (Blogs are also?) make it easier on everyone. Since kids these days love technology they can relax in their chair knowing that they know what their (they're = they are) supposed to do. So in a way it helps out everyone.
Teens these days have very messy writing and puts stress (which puts stress) on the teacher trying to read it. So with blogs it makes the writing neat and fixes the mistakes. Without blogs there is messy writing and spelling mistakes. stress on everyone (an incomplete sentence, I'll combine it to make it complete). With them not as much stress (another incomplete sentence).
So in my opinion blogs help everyone. Without them we're a train wreak (wreck). I love blogs because the help (they? help what?)
