"Whats Corage?"
Thesis of the persasive essay: everyone can show couage weather it is small or larage.
three main points: 1: not all courage has to be with something that is big. Infact most courage is with something that is small like saying no to shoplift with your friends.
2: If you take a stand you can show courage too.
3:when you think of courage do you think of the past or future, and do you think of what you did or what other people have done?

Q: would boys and girls learn better if they attended separate schools?
thesis: No they will not learn better.
points: 1. boys and girls help calm each other down sometimes when none else can
2. boys make girls feel safe
3. girls make guys prideful
If guys and girls went to separate schools it would not help them learn. Guys and girls make them calm down when no one else can. Boys make girls feel safe. Girls make guys more prideful.
Guys and girls calm each other down. I have personally been so mad no one could calm me down. None of my friends could stop me from doing something really stupid. so they got the guy I liked and he hugged me and I calm down it was amazing. so without guys tones of girls would have done stupid things.
Guys make girls feel safe. when girls get into fights girls get a very unsafe feeling so they usually stick with their friends. If your like me then you have no friends that live near you so you walk home alone most of the time. I have gotten in many fights and the only way I got through them is I found a guy that lived near me and i felt safe. He helped me through all the fights i had. if he was not there than i don not know what would have happened.
Girls make guys prideful. Girls give guys something to work for. Girls make guys try harder at things like school work. So without girls guys would flunk.

Response to Opinion Essay on Blogs
Hi Laura,
Yes blogs are helpful in English class. They waste less paper and therefore creates (creates?) less pollution. They are easier for the teacher and the student. Better for spelling and they make it easier to read (an incomplete sentence)
Blogs are more environment smart (usually we say 'environmentally friendly') because they use less paper therefore (something seems to be missing here) less pollution. Kids these days get an assignment on paper write it out on paper (you repeat 'on paper' twice) and then throw it out. All they are doing is killing trees and the environment. Then with blogs the kids can add their teacher on their blogs the teacher can post the assignment on the blogs and kids can type away (this last sentence looks like two put together) . Its (It's=it is)way more efficient.
Blogs are also make it easier on everyone. Since kids these days love technology they can relax in their chair knowing that they know what their (they're=they are) supposed to do. So in a way it helps out everyone.
Teens these days have very messy writing and puts stress (which puts stress) on the teacher trying to read it. So with blogs it makes the writing neat and fixes the mistakes. Without blogs there is messy writing and spelling mistakes. stress on everyone. With them not as much stress. (Both of the last two sentences are incomplete)
After using blogs for a couple of months, I believe that they are helpful in English class. They waste less paper and therefore create less pollution. They are easier for both teachers and students to use. I have also discovered that blogs help students with spelling and are easier to read for everyone.
Blogs are more environmentally friendly because they use less paper and therefore create less pollution. Kids these days get an assignment on paper, write it out, and then throw it in the garbage. All they are doing is killing trees and filling up garbage dumps. A better way of learning is students can add their teacher to their blog and their teacher can post assignments for the students to type away. It's way more efficient.
Blogs make it easier on everyone. Since kids these days love technology, they can relax in their chair knowing that they know what they're supposed to do. So in a way, blogs help out everyone.
Teens these days have very messy writing which puts stress on the teacher trying to read it. With blogs, however, writing is neat and students can edit their work to fix mistakes. Without blogs there is messy writing and spelling mistakes, causing stress on everyone. With them, students won't experience as much stress.
So in my opinion blogs help everyone. Without them we're a train wreck. I love blogs because they help.
I've looked at your opinion essay and have decided that you have a really good understanding of the structure of an opinion essay. I'm glad. That's the most difficult part to teach.
So that you get feedback on your work today I am going to copy and paste it twice. The first time I will present it with my comments in brackets ( )'s. The second time I will try to smooth it out a little so that it (perhaps) expresses what you meant a little more fully.
Your work today with comments:

P.S. I still feel like you have a really good sense of how to do this. I'm hoping you won't mind helping Kylie and some of your classmates to do this.

Charater Trait Story
Little Sally was just entering grade three she was so excited because she was going to be in her favorite teachers class. Sally was great at making great new friends like Jessica but, what Sally did not know was that not everyone is a great friend. two months into school Sally and Jessica were playing on the carpet and a new kid comes onto the class and was introduced as Samantha. So as always Sally went and made friends with her. Next thing you new the three girls were really close they told each other everything.
Winter time came around and Sally invited all her friends to her Birthday Party and everything went great. Except Sally's older sister warned her not to get to close with Sam. As any girl in grade three she did not pay any attention to it and went along with playing with her friends all day long.
When spring time rolled around something started to change in Sam. Jessica started to notice but , Sally was as blind as a bat.that day after school something went down. Sam wanted to beat her up and was about until Jessica came along. Jessica protected her friend. Sally was shocked and helped Jessica take care of her cuts and scrapes. Now today Sally,Jessica, and Sam are all in grade nine and go to the same school and every time Sally looks at Sam she thinks back to that day and remembers how she felt when she found out her good friend Sam was not good at all and that her true friend was Jessica.
